Job Summary

The Manager, Mobile Applications is responsible for managing the delivery of Mobile Applications in support of various digital initiatives at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. The position combines managerial responsibilities with hands-on technical expertise. The Manager is responsible for appropriate staffing, staff management, performance management and overall scheduling. The Mobile Applications Manager will be responsible for helping the team achieve high performance through implementation of best practices in agile, continuous delivery and test-driven development. The individual is also expected to contribute technically in architecture, design and implementation.

Stanford Health Care recently won the 29th Annual CIO100 award for the work on SHC's MyHealth eCheckin and integrated Wayfind solution. The solution reminds the patient of their upcoming appointments, allows them to complete the check-in process in the comfort of their home, get step by step directions on campus to their clinic and be automatically checked in on arrival.
The industry first solution was conceived, designed and developed in house by the 'Software Design and Development' team. The MyHealth team, is a cross functional team of Designers, Software Developers, Analysts and Product Managers. They worked in close collaboration with clinical operations, revenue cycle, facilities management and patient experience on this project.
Every year, the CIO 100 recognizes and celebrates organizations and their IT teams that distinguish themselves by creating business value through innovative use of technology. This year there were over 400 organizations vying for a coveted top 100 spot.
The College of HealthCare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has designated Stanford Health Care again this year for 2018 Most Wired recognition at the CHIME Fall CIO Forum in San Diego.
This is Stanford Health Care's ninth year in a row receiving this recognition.

Creates and improve infrastructure to address system performance, security, maintainability, and scalability of SHC's products
Coordinate with partner teams when required to help unblock teams and resolve issues across teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Experience: Eight (8) years of hands-on, proven software engineering experience delivering mobile applications

License/Certification: N/A

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Hands on experience developing Android and iOS applications.
Experience managing mobile application teams.
Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineering leaders in cross-functional groups
Knowledge of interfacing with backend systems in JAVA, J2EE, ORM, SQL and NoSQL - databases,
Knowledge of front-end browser technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Knowledge of Semantic Markup, AJAX, JSON, and JS libraries
Knowledge of cloud technologies and related deployments
Knowledge of disciplined software release build/deploy processes
Experience leading Agile teams and projects to deliver working software iteratively with quality
Experience dealing with cloud-based hosting services and external hosting partners
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to strategize, plan and implement change.
Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.
