Under the supervision of the assigned Assistant Business Development Director, this role serves as a liaison and referral coordinator between Stanford Health Care and referring physicians, medical groups, hospitals and other medical facilities, and health plans. Promotes the extensive, comprehensive clinical services offered at Stanford Health Care and the faculty from the School of Medicine, as well as educational programs and innovative initiatives. Is responsive to all customer service and patient experience issues. Represents Stanford Health Care and the growing market in a responsive and professional manner.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the health care landscape in the Bay Area regional (21-county) marketplace, and the market factors that affect assigned service lines.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of faculty and programs available at the medical center, particularly those within assigned service lines, and the appropriate process for facilitating referrals and authorizations.
In collaboration with the Business Development Director, identify targeted physicians and medical groups for development of referral relationships.
In collaboration with the Business Development Director, develop sales and retention strategies for target markets and facility service lines.
Assist marketing department in development of collateral materials relevant to physician practices; collaborate with both the CME and SHC marketing departments in the development of outreach activities, programs, events, lunches, dinners, etc.
Determine unmet needs, identify problems or concerns, and offer exemplary and timely service.
Ensure that the institution is kept updated on changing trends and identified opportunities for potential market affiliations.
Establish and adhere to an ongoing schedule of visits to physicians and medical groups in identified target areas based on a sound market strategy.
Initiate contact with existing referral sources on a regular basis via telephone, email, in person, or written format to encourage referrals.
Complete face-to-face meetings with physicians, schedulers, practice managers, and medical staff from referring physicians, medical groups, and hospitals to ensure that a thorough understanding is gained regarding the physician and medical facility staff desires and needs.
Notify appropriate departments or divisions of problem areas for resolution and inform them of needs for clinical services and educational programs identified during field visits.
Prepare professional presentations and/or summaries that address key needs of the targeted groups, and present information on clinical programs and related CME and other outreach activities.
Proactively maintain and nurture established relationships.
Attend and professionally represent Stanford Health Care at assigned community events, dinners, lunches, programs, etc.
Provide regular updates and clear communication to applicable Business Development Director regarding key activities, outreach plans, new relationships developed, identified issues, etc.
Embrace and practice CI-CARE initiatives.
Understand the Stanford Operating System/lean principles and methodologies.
Participate in process improvement activities as assigned.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible and directly related experience
License/Certification: CDL California Driver's License
